November 17, 2012This past week, Harry of the 93X radio station in Minneapolis, Minnesota conducted an interview with DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno. You can now listen to the chat in the YouTube clip below.
DEFTONES' seventh studio album, "Koi No Yokan", is likely to sell between 60,000 and 65,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to industry web site Hits Daily Double. The estimate was based on one-day sales reports compiled after the record arrived in stores on November 13 via Reprise.
"Koi No Yokan" follows up 2010's "Diamond Eyes", which sold 62,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 6 on The Billboard 200 chart.
DEFTONES' 2006 album, "Saturday Night Wrist", opened with 76,000 units to land at position No. 10 on The Billboard 200 chart.
"Koi No Yokan" is already riding a wave of advance critical acclaim. The LA Music Blog called it "the best album from DEFTONES in years and quite possibly the best in their entire career," while Loudwire reported that "if the SMASHING PUMPKINS were heavier, ballsier and angrier, they'd make albums that sound like this."
The first single from "Koi No Yokan" is called "Tempest".
The album title is a Japanese term for the moment you know you will fall in love with someone.
The new disc is the second recorded with bassist Sergio Vega filling in for Chi Cheng, who remains in a semi-comatose state as a result of a November 2008 car accident.
